What is BitBounce on Quora

Bitbounce is an email filtering service which charges unsolicited email senders to send you emails. It’s a strategy to filter out spam emails. But does bitbounce really work? I’ve had a number of emails from bitbounce after people have subscribed to my email list. When I attempt to contact them, there is no reply. Have they in fact subscribed to my list in the first place, or been subscribed by someone else? Or, as I suspect, is bitbounce being used to generate revenue by people who get bitbounce and then subscribe to as many email lists as possible, hoping to charge the owners of those lists to receive their emails? Bitbounce does give the option to users to add people to their safe list. It’s a clever idea but doesn’t your email service already offer a filtering service in the form of spam folders and filtering? Whether bitbounce will take off or not is anybody’s guess. It’s a clever idea but whether people will take to paying for a service which is currently free is uncertain. If you receive a bitbounce filter message, there’s the option of adding yourself to the users “Whitelist”. Where presumably you can send messages to them without a charge. I’ve tried this on a number of occasions and I assume the user has chosen not to allow it, or they have missed it! It doesn’t seem to work in either case. The option says “I know you, please add me to your whitelist”. Surly everyone will click this link, rather than pay?! But it is presumably only at the discretion of the user, whether they allow it or not, otherwise having such an option seems pointless. https://tim-halloran.com/what-is...
