Wanchain Joins Hyperledger, Focusing on Blockchain Interoperability

Hyperledger Quilt seeks to provide interoperability between ledger systems to transfer value across distributed and non-distributed ledgers via the Interledger protocol (ILP). The ILP is a Hyperledger protocol mainly used for payments. Wanchain’s engineers will contribute our cross-chain expertise in order to advance the Quilt project. We hope to help bridge the enterprise blockchain world to the public blockchain world using cross-chain technology. Hyperledger Indy is a distributed ledger, purpose-built for decentralized identity. It provides tools, libraries, and reusable components for creating and using independent digital identities rooted on blockchains or other distributed ledgers so that they are interoperable across administrative domains, applications, and any other “silo.” In addition to the Quilt and Indy projects, Wanchain seeks to advance the cross-chain capabilities of the broader Hyperledger ecosystem. Member Events Jack Lu, Wanchain’s Founder and CEO, will be attending the Hyperledger Member Summit in Montreal, Canada on Monday, October 1st. In addition, Wanchain’s Head of Engineering will attend the Member Summit, as well as the Hyperledger Hackfest, where he will host a crosschain-focused workshop for the attendees. Wanchain Bitcoin Interoperability Launch Coming Q4 2018 Wanchain recently announced that invite-only testing for Bitcoin Integration (Wanchain 3.0) is now live . This is the Alpha testnet for Wanchain’s 3.0 launch that has been planned to go live by the end of 2018. Wanchain 3.0 will make Wanchain the first and only blockchain interoperable with Bitcoin and Ethereum using secure multi-party computation. Aside from our integration with Bitcoin being a major milestone for the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry as a whole, this integration will also be of major significance to leaders of Ethereum-based projects. Upon launch of our impending Wanchain 3.0 release, any dApp, protocol, DEX, or other project built on Ethereum will be able to break down the wall between their network and the entire community of Bitcoin users. Beta testing for the upcoming product launch will be initiated in the very near future. About Hyperledger Hyperledger is an open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies. It is a global collaboration including leaders in finance, banking, Internet of Things, supply chains, manufacturing and Technology. The Linux Foundation hosts Hyperledger under the foundation. To learn more, visit: https://www.hyperledger.org/. Hyperledger launched in 2016 with a technical and organizational governance structure and 30 founding corporate members. Initially, the Hyperledger Technical Steering Committee welcomed two business blockchain framework codebases into incubation: Hyperledger Fabric, a codebase combining work by Digital Asset, libconsensus from Blockstream and OpenBlockchain from IBM; and Hyperledger Sawtooth, developed at Intel’s incubation group. The governing board of Hyperledger, which now counts 21 members, partnered with Linux Foundation leaders to recruit an executive director. In May 2016, Apache Software Foundation co-founder Brian Behlendorf was appointed to the role. Behlendorf didn’t waste time helping the community determine its strategy. In September, he described the vision for Hyperledger as a business blockchain umbrella. Over the remainder of 2016 and 2017, the Hyperledger Technical Steering Committee added seven more business blockchain codebases. Corporate and Associate membership ranks swelled to nearly 200. Of the 70+ open source organizations the Linux Foundation has launched, Hyperledger holds the distinction as the fastest growing. You can find more information about HyperLedger on their website. Additionally, you can reach them through Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Interested in building on Wanchain? The Wanchain infrastructure simplifies the creation of distributed financial applications for individuals and organizations to access financial services such as loans, asset exchange, multi-asset ICOs, and other asset management capabilities. Wanchain 2.0 enables the cross-chain functionalities with Ethereum. Wanchain 3.0, which will launch before the close of 2018, will enable the same functionalities with Bitcoin.
