MyEtherWallet is giving away 10,000 ENS names for free. Great opportunity to name your wallet!

Never Mistype an Address Again: Free ENS Domains from MEW Get your Ethereum address a readable name in the time it takes to post a Tweet Say my name, say my name There are many aspects of crypto management that are complex and confusing enough to open the door to security issues and loss of funds through inadvertent error. Mistyping the 42-character-alphanumeric-string address doesn’t have to be one of them anymore. ENS domains are a secure and decentralized way of assigning convenient, human-readable names to addresses on the blockchain. These domains are built on smart contracts, and are not susceptible to the insecurities of DNS systems. This means you can be sure that you are really transacting with the domain you intend and not being redirected or phished. Giving away free ENS names! (not to be confused with free ETH, which no one ever gives away) In the spirit of promoting safer crypto practices among our users and the crypto community in general, MEW is giving away 10,000 ENS domains! Payment and registration are fully taken care of — all you need to do is pick a name and send a tweet. Really. Three subdomains are available to choose from: etherbase.eth wantsome.eth gimmethe.eth As in, satoshi.wantsome.eth. Or maybe, youbetter.gimmethe.eth. Perhaps, mysecret.etherbase.eth… Let your imagination run wild. This is how you do it Go on Twitter, and tweet “@mewensbot”, the address you want to register the ENS to, and the desired domain name, with a space between each entry. Here’s an example (DO NOT copy this actual tweet, it’s an EXAMPLE…) @mewensbot 0xDECAF9CD2367cdbb726E904cD6397eDFcAe6068D youbetter.gimmethe.eth You will get a reply that looks like this: Hey @awesomeuser! youbetter.gimmethe.eth successfully registered for 0xDECAF9CD2367cdbb726E904cD6397eDFcAe6068Detherscan.io/tx/0x606087f08…Powered by @myetherwallet You’re done! Next time you need to give someone your address, give your domain name and they’ll be able to put it into the address field in the Ethereum blockchain interface of their choice. Better yet, if you get your friends onboard, you can send funds to them the same way — by their ENS name. (Very light) restrictions apply In order to participate, your Twitter account must have at least 50 followers and be active for at least 6 months (you don’t need to be an influencer, but also please don’t be a bot). Maximum 3 names can be issued per Twitter account. Go ahead, try it out and get your friends onboard! It’s easy, it’s free and good for your security. Sincerely, Team MEW MyEtherWallet.com Twitter Instagram Reddit Facebook Youtube HackerOne Github
