Metaverse At Thailand & Korea Blockchain Summits

Metaverse Attends 2018 Blockchain Revolution Summit in Seoul and Summit Forum of Blockchain in Thailand Metaverse CEO Eric Gu was invited to participate in the Blockchain Revolution Summit in Seoul on 17 January, 2018, organized by Fintech startup Jibrel Network, and gave a presentation on the Digital Economy. Beginning from Bitcoin’s market capitalization on Coinmarketcap, Eric proceeded to discuss the potential total market capitalization of all digital assets as the digital economy and digital asset capabilities grow. Comparing the market share held by traditional and digital financial institutions as well as the development trends within each industry, Eric introduced the concept of “Blockchain +” — combining blockchain technology with finance, healthcare, art, intellectual property and other applications. The massive potential for growth in each intersection makes it inevitable that digital assets and the digital economy will be vital components of the upcoming financial revolution. Leading South Korean and Chinese companies and individuals from the blockchain, digital currency and finance industries were gathered at the Summit to debate the impact of blockchain regulations on the industry’s development and future applications of blockchain technology. Attendees also held discussions about industry trends, the present commercial environment, and the direction of future developments to help the blockchain industry better position itself and promote the industry’s development in both China and South Korea. Following the Summit, Eric gave an exclusive interview to The Korea Herald, Korea’s leading source of financial news, in which he explained his perspective on the development of digital currencies and digital finance as well as their potential use cases in greater detail. In the face of growing pressure from officials in South Korea, blockchain startups in China and South Korea are continuing to grow rapidly. As China’s leading public blockchain, Metaverse is committed to promoting the blockchain ecosystem and industry development. To that end, we believe that Metaverse will make strides in the next financial revolution. That same week, Eric also travelled to Thailand for the Summit Forum of Blockchain in Southeast Asia, where he took part in a roundtable discussion with other panelists themed “Blockchain, Present & Future: Blockchain+ In Theory and Practice”. Eric mainly described Blockchain+Finance, a concept that leverages the decentralized nature of blockchains to increase the transparency of capital flows in traditional finance. Additionally, Eric introduced the Metaverse project and how its digital identity and Blockchain-as-a-Service capabilities could be used to implement Blockchain+Finance.
