Lisk News: Price Takes a Plunge with Rebranding Date, Rumors of Price Manipulation

Lisk News: Price Takes a Plunge with Rebranding Date, Rumors of Price Manipulation Lisk price took a 20% fall after the Berlin meet-up failed to meet expectations, pushing the rebrand date to next year. by Hunain Naseer , 22 November Lisk, which has had a strong month until now, coming from a low of $4 to a high of $10.59, experienced a major drop in price, falling to almost $7, which, according to most, is due to the rebranding date announced at the Berlin meet-up.
While the community expected a rebrand this year, the official date has been revealed to be 20 February, 2018, and even though that is just three months away, the bullish market made way for bears, with a massive sell-off starting on Bittrex.

Lisk, which had an ICO back in May of 2016, has managed to build a strong community, and recently expanded their team, along with their marketing efforts.
The rebrand, which is expected to give Lisk a major boost (as was the case with NEO), was what a lot of traders and profiteers were pegging their hopes on. However, there are also rumors about Lisk price manipulation by whales, and Reddit post by user ChrisTroy appears to have discussed the manipulation hours before the dip.

“Since 48 hours, someone is manipulating the $LSK price/trade on Bittrex. The guy(s) currently doing this have massive amounts of $ as well as $LSK and are manipulating the whole market since Monday afternoon. Your classic whale. They are working with bots and Bittrex does, unfortunately, nothing against this kind of manipulation,” reads the post.

That being said, there is some negativity about the meetup as well, which was streamed online. It has drawn criticism for being ‘overly hyped’ and not delivering much solid news. Some people also called it out for being less than ‘professional’ in outlook.

“Rent a real auditorium when you are making an announcement. Its embarrassing to say the least that time and money were not invested in your presentation. If you steam the video from the computer connected to the projector your online audience will be able to follow along much better and it will not look like something that was set up in your basement. The screen was washed out and hard to read. (Look up Ethereum meeting Nov 2016) - please learn from this,” posted one user.
“Glad I sold my 73,000 lisk two hours ago. I'll buy back in after this dump is over. Enjoy the Endless "Soons" that every other failed coins has given us,” said another.

However, there is a lot of positivity around the price drop as well, with long-term holders and supporters taking it as an opportunity to buy cheaper tokens ahead of the February rebranding, when price is expected to rise again.
