ICON-Stats — an Analytics tool for ICONists and P-Reps

ICON-Stats — Analytics tool for ICONists and P-Reps It’s almost close to 2 months since decentralization and we have been seeing various activities in the ICON ecosystem. The interesting ones are the ICON Grant program and VELIC’s Grant Campaign for the ICON community. These programs will help to motivate developers and promote the development of useful D-Apps & services that can benefit the ICON ecosystem as a whole. With these campaigns going on and preps presenting their ideas for the programs, it will certainly be harder for the judges to make the decision. However, iBriz-ICONOsphere has come up with analytics tools that will: Help to view how well the preps are doing on a time series graph. Help ICONists to make a good decision regarding choosing their P-Reps to vote implementing the core concept of decentralization during the process. This will also help you analyze the results of your specific initiatives as reflected by the votes graph trend. iBriz- ICONOsphere has been working on this tool that helps both the preps as well as the ICONists. There are no other methods to check upon how preps are performing except with the current votes and their current rankings. But with this tool, they will be able to look into how they performed from the start of the voting period to this current date. The tool to check how your favorite P-Rep is doing: http://icon-stats.ibriz.ai/ Here is a graph that shows how the iBriz-ICONOsphere performed from the start of the voting period to this current period. What we learn from the graph: iBriz-ICONOsphere started promoting its campaign on pre-voting from 26th Aug 2019 with 20,839 votes. Along the way iBriz-ICONOsphere continued with their marketing campaigns, promoting their contributions in the ICON ecosystem and how they planned to help grow the ICON ecosystem. On the day of decentralization, they were in the 23rd position with 2,061,319 votes. Some of the other prep nodes (higher up in ranking) were not stable. This resulted in iBriz getting the Main P-Rep status. Later it ascended to 22nd position with 2,311,705 votes. Currently (as of the publication of this article), iBriz-ICONOsphere is in the 21st position with 2,221,070 votes. Insights: The current scenario of decentralization can be much improved. A large portion (49.8%) of the votes are distributed to the top 5 P-Reps. ICONists can help decentralization by spreading their votes across more P-Reps. Decentralization is important to the whole community because it creates a system that is much more robust and stable. Therefore it is in the interest of all of us that you spread your votes. Below is a graph that shows a number of wallets that are voting for each P-Reps which is generated from the same analytics tool but is not live for now. This graph shows the no of wallets that have delegated to each of the preps. Here are some facts gleaned from this graph: ICON foundation (the top ranking P-Rep) has votes from 1664 wallet addresses which is the lowest number of wallet addresses among the top 5 P-Reps. This shows that wallet addresses with large amount of ICX have delegated their ICX to the ICON Foundation. With this graph what we can see that most ICONists are concentrating their votes to top few P-Reps. This can motivate ICONists to spread their vote for stronger decentralization. In the near future, iBriz is planning to give access to every P-Rep candidates to add their contributions in this tool. This will enable every ICONists to see details about individual P-reps and decide on who to vote. What next? iBriz would like to hear feedback about this analytics tool so that it can be more useful to the ICONists and P-Reps. We can customize this tool for other P-Reps and also provide a more detailed version of the tool that we are using internally.
