Here's how to buy Zcash: A step-by-step guide.

How to Buy Zcash (ZEC): A Step-By-Step Guide for Newbies So you want to buy Zcash, eh? Here’s what to do. Step 1: Open a Coinbase Account! Coinbase (and its brother GDAX) is a cryptocurrency exchange. If you use my referral link and buy more than $100 worth of cryptocurrency you will get $10 worth of extra Bitcoin for free. Step 2: Buy ETH or BTC! Once you are on Coinbase, Buy ETH (Ethereum) or BTC (Bitcoin) on Coinbase. (BTC has higher transaction fees and slower transaction times, so keep that in mind.) Step 3: Open a Binance Account! Open an account here on Binance. (This is my referral link.). Binance is a decent exchange because it lists a large number of coins, because it is open to people in the USA, and because it has low commissions. Turn on “Using BNB to pay for fees” under the Account tab, to ensure you are getting the lowest rates. Congratulations, you now have Binance and Coinbase accounts. Step 4: Transfer the Currency from Coinbase Transfer your Coinbase cryptocurrency (ETH or BTC) to your Binance account. To do that: First, go to your Binance account click Funds > Deposits. Then Search for the coin of your choice (ETH or BTC) and select it. Copy the Deposit address. Then, go to Coinbase. You will use that copied address to send your corresponding Coinbase cryptocurrency over to Binance. Click on Accounts, Click ‘Send’ next to the currency you wish to transfer over to Binance. Paste the address you copied into the Recipient field and decide on the amount to send. Once you’re done the transfer will initialize and take some time to go through. Make sure that if you are sending ETH, that you copied the ETH address in Binance, and if you are sending BTC that you copied the BTC address, otherwise you can say goodbye to your money. Yes, it will disappear into thin air if you paste in an address for the wrong currency! Step 5: Buy Zcash! Once the transfer has gone through (ETH is faster than BTC) you can now buy ZEC with the currency you transfered. Go to Exchange > Basic. In the top right corner select the currency you bought (ETH or BTC) > In the Search box, search for ZEC and click on it. At the bottom of the screen you can now see ‘Buy ZEC’, ‘Price’, ‘Amount’, a list of percentages, ‘Total’ and a green button labelled ‘Buy ZEC’. If you want to use all your BTC or ETH to buy ZEC, select 100%. If you only want to use only 25%, select 25%. Click the ‘Buy ZEC’ button and you will see under Funds > Deposits > Search ‘ZEC’ that you now have Zcash! *Zcash was used as an example in this post. Please do your own due diligence before investing! *The above references an opinion and is for information purposes only. It is not intended to be investment advice.
