Flume Gorge: An Easy Hike And A Pretty Cool Waterfall

Hello steemians, today I would like to share with you some pictures from my recent excursion to Flume Gorge. It is a natural gorge at the base of a mountain (Mount Liberty) in New Hampshire USA, and part of a state park called Franconia Notch. There is a very brief hike (super easy) that you can participate in at this gorge, and it takes you past a really neat waterfall. Unfortunately this area is super commercialized and full of people, however I still managed to capture some images that are fairly devoid of people and I will share some of these images with you today! Table Rock Upon first entering the area and walking up a steep trail you reach a region at the bottom of the gorge called table rock, here the water flows over some very flat rock, and ends up with a very neat looking cascade: Getting a closer look! After this area we continue traveling up toward the actual gorge. Flume Gorge There is a board walk installed here so you can walk over top the water and make your way up towards the waterfall. Avalanche Falls We continue our ascent toward the waterfall! How about seeing the waterfall in action? Maybe you would like to see it from the front? How about from the top? Some Pretty Scenery From The Top After you reach the top you get a few places where you can see some nice views of the surrounding hills, its a pretty green and nice rolling area which was carved out of some mountains thousands of years back in the most recent ice age. The Way Back Down: The Pool There is a neat pond that forms at the base of a separate cascade that is over 40 feet deep, named the pool: My Thoughts Ultimately a very easy hike through a really neat gorge, with a really nice waterfall and some beautiful nature. Probably not a destination for those who don't live in the surrounding area (Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire). However for those that do, and can deal with the popularity of the location (there were a lot of people there with us) it is a refreshing little park. Especially if you are like me and love waterfalls! Don't worry, for those of you who were looking for more science from me it is on the way! Sometimes though, it's good to take a break and step out into nature for a moment. Thank you for taking the time to look at my photos. I know I am not a skilled photographer like so many of you on here, but I do love to capture places that I visit. I hope you have enjoyed what you saw here today! I wish you all the best, @justtryme90 Image Sourcing All images were taken by me in potato quality by my smart phone (Google Pixel), all gifs are from videos captured by me also in potato quality by my smart phone and converted through use of giphy.com.
